Positive impact on strategic partners and the surrounding environment

Good Mining Techniques

In the technical field of mining, PT Tonia Mitra Sejahtera applies aspects of good mining practice by prioritizing environmental aspects. Therefore, the mining plan for a block is designed in such a way as to minimize environmental effects.

One form of this effort is mapping or tracking waterways from tributaries to main rivers from upstream to downstream. By obtaining data on these waterways, the engineering team will then carry out mining engineering so that mine runoff water from the pit does not pollute these waterways.

Engineering can take the form of special drainage and water embankments that direct water flow to the lowest area in the pit that functions as a settling pond or sediment pond.

The function of the settling pond and sediment pond is to settle various mud or sediment materials carried by runoff water during rainfall, so that what flows out of the pond is clean water.

The sediment pond construction process begins with topographic mapping and waterway tracking. After taking the data, the engineering/mpe team will design a sediment pond with several compartments so that sediment can be deposited optimally.

Once the planned location of the sediment pond is known, the data from the engineering team will be forwarded to the survey team to install the sediment pond boundary. Then after the boundary is installed, the execution of sediment pond construction will be carried out by the operational team supervised by the survey team or engineering team.

Environment and Gas Emission Reduction

Use of solar power / Solar Panels as a source of lighting energy

In realizing the process of environmentally friendly mining activities PT Tonia Mitra Sejahtera implements several policies and strategies including the use of solar panels on lighting in the mess area and MHR (Mine Haul Road) area. The use of solar panels as the main energy for lighting is still being carried out in stages.

Control of domestic waste and hazardous waste

In the mining industry, domestic waste generated from daily local activities such as food processing (kitchen) and toilets and B3 waste generated from the mining operation process needs to be managed and controlled properly.

PT Tonia Mitra Sejahtera in realizing this applies efforts by making domestic and hazardous waste control ponds which are continuously monitored by the HSE Team.

The construction of the control pond is made into one location and placed in a location that does not interfere with daily work activities in order to maintain good environmental sanitation which affects the health of workers and other natural ecosystems.

100% local labor

In the socio-economic field, PT TMS has 100% local labor and 70% of them are local communities around the mine. All workers play a role in contributing to the company in accordance with their skills.

In addition, PT TMS also plays an active role in developing the income level of the middle class community such as purchasing fish caught by fishermen and vegetables from farming communities around the mine to fulfill the food needs of workers and other trade fields.

Clean water procurement

Some of the partnership cooperation is directly related to the community in the form of developing clean water sources in the village environment around the mining site by building clean water distribution facilities and finding springs that are suitable for use to meet daily needs, including:

Spring Pipanization Program

Spring pipeline program in Lengora Pantai Village which was completed in March 2023.
Hiyan spring

CONSTRUCTION OF VITAL COMMUNITY FACILITIES

PT TMS contributes to building vital community facilities whose benefits are expected to continue to be felt even though mining activities have been completed. Some of these vital facilities include the construction of houses of worship in the form of mosques in several villages around the mining area and financial assistance for the construction of Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) to Sea Ambulances.

In addition, PT TMS also plays an active role in developing the income level of the middle class community such as purchasing fish caught by fishermen and vegetables from farming communities around the mine to fulfill the food needs of workers and other trade fields.

education funding assistance

PT TMS also pays attention to the level of education in the local community by contributing to the provision of educational funding assistance. This funding assistance includes scholarships, assistance for educators, supporting educational facilities and infrastructure, and skills training according to the interests of the community's independence.
